Withings now requires Withings+ for new accounts sending data to Apple Health. The company’s updated export guide describes the restriction, and a new official clarification explains the account-date cutoff.
The account date determines the cost
In the October 15 clarification, Withings says accounts created from October 13, 2026 need the paid plan for third-party syncing. Accounts opened on or before October 12 retain free sync, including when owners add new hardware.
That makes the account’s creation date an important check before buying a Withings device for an Apple Health setup.
What Withings+ now covers
The current US Withings+ page lists $9.95 per month or $99.50 per year and includes Apple Health and Health Connect syncing among its features. For an affected account, that adds a recurring cost to consider alongside the device price.
The restriction covers data leaving Withings. Importing data from other apps remains free, with a separate Apple Health import guide describing the opposite direction. Basic data and trends remain accessible in the Withings app without a subscription.
Data remains available when sync pauses
Withings says synchronization pauses when a membership ends and resumes when it is reactivated. Stored data is retained.
Users can request a full-data CSV archive through the app’s Profile settings. The archive arrives by email as a CSV file that can be opened in spreadsheet software. Withings says CSV exports, PDF reports and HealthLink sharing remain free, although its report-sharing guide limits PDF and HealthLink reports to up to three months.
An exported file provides access to records, but the documentation does not establish a free CSV-to-Apple-Health replacement for the integration.
The Apple Health export guide also says users must open Withings, open Health, then return to Withings and refresh to see the latest data. A subscription should not be read as a promise of continuous background updates.
