Timemator 3.3.2 for Mac, released October 15, 2026, addresses a backup-and-sync bug that could leave a restored library empty. The developer’s release notes describe the problem as affecting large iCloud libraries.
A check before sync
The risky sequence was restoring a backup, then turning on iCloud sync. Version 3.3.2 now asks how the local and cloud data should be combined in every case. If it cannot check iCloud, it presents Try Again or Cancel rather than proceeding with synchronization.
The notes do not specify how large a library must be to trigger the bug, which earlier versions are affected, or how often it occurred. They also do not promise to recover records already lost.
Update before reconnecting
For anyone preparing to reconnect a restored library to iCloud, MacDigest’s precaution is to preserve the existing backup and update the Mac app first. Keep that backup intact while checking the restored records, especially any tasks and time entries that matter for current work. This is an editorial precaution, not a tested recovery procedure.
Update the Mac app using Timemator → Check for Updates…, the route given in the developer’s troubleshooting guide.
Version and support
The official download page currently lists version 3.3.2 and requires macOS Catalina 10.15 or later. Timemator can keep tasks, folders, sessions and auto-tracking rules in sync across Macs, so the restored library is worth reviewing before making another sync choice.
MacDigest has not installed this build or tested a backup restore. If records are already missing, keep the available backups and ask Timemator support for guidance specific to the affected library before trying further recovery steps.
