Google has updated Chrome’s Stable channel for Mac to 155.0.8059.84/.85, with 10 security fixes. The October 15 release is rolling out over the coming days and weeks, so check the version installed on your Mac.

A critical Prerender fix

The list includes one critical, six high and three medium-severity issues. The critical flaw, CVE-2026-110922, is a use-after-free bug in Prerender. Google’s notice does not state that it is being exploited in the wild.

This follows the October 13 release, which brought 37 fixes in 155.0.8059.79/.80. If you updated earlier this week, it is worth checking again.

Extended Stable has a separate build

Google also released 152.0.7977.169 for Extended Stable on Mac. Its security list includes CVE-2026-110922, and that release is also rolling out over the coming days and weeks.

Extended Stable is an enterprise option for managed Windows and Mac browsers. It receives feature releases every eight weeks and security refreshes in between. A lower major version can therefore be expected on a managed Mac using that channel. Check with your administrator if you are unsure which channel applies.

Check the version, then relaunch

In Chrome, open the three-dot menu and choose Help, then About Google Chrome. Google’s update guide says this page shows the installed version and checks for updates. Select Relaunch when it is offered to apply the update.

Save any work before restarting. Chrome normally restores open tabs and windows, but Incognito windows will not reopen. If you postpone the restart, the update takes effect the next time Chrome restarts.

MacDigest has not installed or tested these builds. For managed fleets, confirm the deployed version and channel through your normal update process.
