AtAt’s October 15 release brings one continuing conversation across its supported agents and editable Memory notes. Before updating, check which records stay on each Mac, what reaches your chosen provider and when an agent can act without asking. The current download is already 2.0.1; its changelog entry is undated.
Import conversations on each Mac
The new Chat conversation stays local, even with iCloud Sync enabled. Bring Over copies 1.x messages and attachments into it. Use the banner in Chat or Settings → General → Conversation Data on each Mac with older records.
Check the imported attachments before clearing anything. Failed copies can be retried; files already missing from an old archive are skipped. Original archives survive import, but Clear Conversation also deletes archives already imported. The manual documents no general conversation-export workflow. Keep your existing backups.
Review Memory separately
Memory is a folder of Markdown notes backed by a local Git repository. Optional iCloud Sync carries current notes between Macs; Git history stays on each machine. It does not turn Chat into a synchronized archive.
Memory’s index and linked notes accompany requests to the selected agent. Review them before switching providers: local storage does not guarantee local processing.
Automatic learning initially starts on for CLI agents, Custom commands, Ollama and Siri AI, and off for per-token APIs. An explicit choice persists when you change providers. Background learning uses the selected provider’s quota or credits; turning it off leaves existing notes intact.
Deleting a chat does not erase learned Memory. Asking AtAt to forget removes current material but leaves earlier Git commits.
Check agent access and approval scope
Let agents use @@ starts enabled under Settings → Agent → atat CLI. The command gives compatible agents access to features including clipboard context, Favorites and Finder selection. Review it before connecting agents.
The manual distinguishes initial requests from Chat follow-ups. An initial request can execute commands and modify reachable files without pausing. Follow-ups have approval cards for certain actions, with exceptions and provider-specific behavior. Do not assume every file change requires confirmation.
AtAt requires Apple silicon and macOS 15 or later. Agent use needs a paid plan after the seven-day preview. Listed prices are US$9 monthly, US$59 yearly and US$119 for Lifetime at its current launch tier, excluding tax; provider charges are separate. MacDigest has not installed or independently tested this release.
