China’s telecommunications authorities have published a filing confirming that Apple Intelligence has completed the country’s required generative AI regulatory process under Apple Technology Development (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. The filing allows Apple to provide the feature in mainland China and removes one of the main regulatory barriers that has delayed its local launch.

Apple Intelligence has remained unavailable on devices sold in mainland China since its international rollout. Completion of the filing means Apple can now move forward with local deployment, including the required infrastructure, software integration and regional service arrangements.
Apple has not announced a release date. Availability will still depend on Apple’s rollout schedule and whether the necessary services are ready for users in mainland China.
