The October 15 release of Cirrus 1.17 adds pinning indicators to its iCloud Drive file browser. Its pinned-file totals, however, need careful interpretation before relying on them for offline work.
Read the pin count carefully
Its crawler reports the number and size of individually pinned files. Files kept downloaded through a pinned parent folder are omitted; the browser has the same blind spot. The total is therefore an incomplete offline inventory.
Apple’s Finder guide says Keep Downloaded can apply to files or folders. When preparing for travel or an unreliable connection, check the files you need in Finder rather than using Cirrus’s total as your packing list.
Shorter logs and the update boundary
The log browser now uses a relative interval of one second to 60 minutes before or after a chosen time. Cirrus also removes old File menu operations that could leave File Provider resources stuck.
The free Universal app is listed for Sonoma and later. Static inspection of the official 1.17 package confirms a macOS 14.6 minimum; pinning itself arrived in Sequoia. The developer advises pre-Sonoma users not to update.
