Antigravity brings coding agents, reviewable plans and folder controls into the Gemini app for Mac. Illustration: MacDigest.
Google added Antigravity’s coding interface to the Gemini Mac app on October 13. It lets you move from a chat into a coding project, with a plan to review before work begins. For Mac users, the details worth checking are folder access and how the integration behaves alongside the standalone Antigravity app.
Check your Mac and account
You need the latest Gemini Mac app. Google’s Mac requirements specify Apple silicon, macOS Sequoia 15 or newer, at least 8 GB of RAM and 200 MB of free storage for installation. A stable internet connection is required. In an existing installation, use Gemini → Check for Updates.
The integration is available in English to adults using a personal Google Account or an eligible work account with Gemini enabled. Regional availability follows Antigravity’s supported-country and territory list: Taiwan is included; mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau are absent.
Review the plan and folder access
Open Gemini, click Antigravity at the top, then choose an existing project or start a conversation. Describe the task and review the proposed plan. You can leave comments directly on it before the agent starts changing things.
According to Google’s integration guide, agents work within the folders you select and request permission for sensitive changes. Folder access and permission settings can be adjusted in Settings. For a first project, choose a narrowly scoped folder and check that the plan matches what you actually want changed.
Command–Shift–A returns you to Gemini chat while the coding task continues. A notification tells you when the build is ready to review. Read the resulting walkthrough and check the changes before relying on the output.
Use one app per conversation
If you also use the standalone Antigravity app, Google warns that messaging the same conversation from both apps may cause conflicts. Keep that conversation’s instructions in one app while work is underway.
The interface’s availability does not establish access to Gemini 4 Argon. Our Argon developer guide covers API limits and standalone Antigravity access. Its desktop requirements apply to that app; use the Gemini requirements above for this integration.
These steps follow Google’s documentation. We haven’t tested the integration hands-on.
